The human drive to belong and all the mixed emotions around desired belongings yet also separations are astounding!

This sense to belong even connects to the basic and early life phenomenon of attachment development - the search, longing and individuation from the one’s primary caretakers. Later in life, these emotions turn into relationships characterized by love, care, and altruism - and all its expressions!

The shift of focus from the individual onto a couple, family or even a community is only logical. Communities are simply more resilient than individual alone. They accomplish greater good that one person alone and such impact is paramount for several challenges. While community-driven design is emerging and at the fore front for good reasons, it can be messier.
