The topic of diversity of perspectives, representations and conversations to support the growing inclusion of all those around us is not optional when it comes to designing good experiences in companies and communities.
The practice of pinpointing one’s privileges and stereotypes to actively work through them is a trend, either. It ought to be as basic as saying your name and educational accomplishments - as it collectively moves us to integration and less hurtful separation.
This is Pixel Story Studio’s experience from having lived, learned and lounged in three countries, 10+ companies and 20+ chapters of belonging. As a primarily White female and heterosexually identifying systemic designer, Julika Lomas is determined to make this topic integrated in all projects rather than optional and for show. How else could one carry the privilege and fortune, and start talking about the non-privilege and misfortunes that also connect us as humans?
